A reading-intensive introduction to modern Chinese literature from 1900 to 1949, with a focus on fiction. Credit will be granted for only one of CHIN_V 451 or CHIN_V 411. Recommended pre-requisites: one of CHIN_V 303, CHIN_V 304, CHIN_V 403, CHIN_V 404, CHIN_V 435, CHIN_V 441, CHIN_V 443 and one of CHIN_V 307, CHIN_V 308, CHIN_V 407, CHIN_V 408, CHIN_V 437, CHIN_V 445, CHIN_V 447.
