Introduction to Ship Design

This course introduces the ship design process from a Systems Engineering point of view. Topics include ship operational requirements, space and weight estimation, parametric design, optimization techniques, and the impacts of ship design on economics and the environment. Credit will be granted for only one of MECH_V 486 or NAME_V 581.
