An examination of the arts as social practices from the standpoint of the relationships among artists, critics, patrons, and public; and the social institutions through which these relationships are structured. It is recommended that students complete one of SOCI_V 100, SOCI_V 101, or SOCI_V 102 before taking this course. Restricted to students with second-year standing or above.
